Excellent stuff. How rare are the stocks, I don't think I have ever seen one.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. These stocks are quite rare to find, these were covered under US Patent by Robert Roy who worked for Colt in 1964 and these CAR-15/XM607stocks saw limited use being replaced by the XM177E2. Around 2013 a small production run of some repro XM607 stocks were produced in Texas, these were a close copy but still not quite the same. The lever inside the buttstock locks or unlocks stock.
