That is neat. I think I would leave it as a lamp even if I was able to find a correct bolt. How much were they asking for the british one?

I believe $195 but price could be brought down. Had WWl helmet on it but it was painted in camo that was just done. I can let you know where it is. Might have an image of it somewhere.

Wow! Reminds me of a very simliar lamp that occupied the "reading corner" in our old deer cabin for longer since before I was born. A WWI GEW
98 with one of those "butcher" type bayo's.
The cabin was built in the late 40's by the "doughboy" that brought the rifle home and his son who was a vet from the "next" war. I became part of the group in the late 60's. I recall often sitting under that lamp while reading the latest hunting and fishing tips that you could get from those issues of Field & Stream dated 1952.
