Searching Stocks With Numbers Stamped Near Recoil Plate
Asking for help,
Looking for any Carbine stocks with a number stamped near the Recoil Plate.
Please report even if you just have the stock only.
Needed:
1: The number and orientation
2: If the stock has a serial number stamped on it
3: If known usage by another country
4: If carbine is Import stamped
Appreciate any and all help. Any questions ask here,
Thx All

Charlie are you referring to the serial numbered stocks from Israel with the number on the left side below the recoil plate?

I don't think this would help because it's not by the Recoil Plate, but I've had this Stock a Very Long Time without explanation of the Numbers on it. Maybe someone could lead me in the right direction to find out what and who marked it like this.

Hi Bruce,
I didn't want to mention the Israeli stocks in case someone found the numbers near the left or right side of the Recoil plate on another type stock.
But yes, like the numbers reported on some stocks used by Israel.
Any report of a number or numbers stamped near the plate will be logged.
Again looking for:
1: The number and orientation
2: If the stock has a serial number stamped on it
3: If known usage by another country
4: If carbine is Import stamped
We are looking for a pattern. All are asked to reply.
Help Much Appreciated
Happy Thanksgiving

Frank,
1st picture I can see:
S
3
56
Is the 2nd picture 23 ? Where is that stamped..... on the barrel channel edge ?
3rd picture, I see 127 between the left sling cut out and Butt plate.
Also in the 3rd picture, I can't make out the numbers, letters or characters inside the slingwell.
Is it IO, or a N or R with a looping right leg. Is there a marking below the possible IO, N or R ?

Yes it's inside the Stock on the Edge.
I can't see it clearly, but its either 23 or 2B. In the Slingwell it looks like IO. I been looking for markings but that's All I can find. The 3 Numbers are 127 with a Swoosh mark under the 1.

Frank,
I did a partial look at some of the Bavarians.
Look at the style and size of the numbers stamped on the wood in this link below.
I'm not saying yours is Bavarian, but you gotta admit the 1 2 and 7 in the link sure look a lot like yours.

PS: Anything on the bottom of your pistol grip?

Charlie that's got to be it. There almost the same. I Never thought about it being Bavarian. My Bavarian Rock-ola has 4 numbers. I don't have it here with me it's in Fathers (RIP) Safe at my Mothers home, but if you do a search here '44 Bavarian when I was the winning bidder I posted it here to show it. This Stock here is Very Stout and Nice. Thank You Charlie

Charlie, I might have (2) stocks like that. One of them is in this thread - pics and discussion are on the second page.

Frank D. has one, too. I think one of mine has a 30 near the recoil plate and may be upside down. One or the other, may have a 5 or a 50 on it also. I've been spending too much time on the computer today, so need to get in the Living Room and be part of the" family" for a change. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! - Bob

Charlie some stocks that came in from central America was numbered on the left side too similar to the ones that came in from Israel. But the vast majority of stocks with serial numbers on them, came from Israel. But many do not hold the carbine the stock is numbered to. Changed during a rebuild most likely. If I remember right it was Century who brought most of these back from Israel.
