Type III Walnut stock markings
Morning all,
I've managed to get my hands on an alternative stock for my M1A1
.
I've already got a pot belly post war Birch stock, but I wanted a WW2 example to go with it.
I received a nice Inland marked Walnut example yesterday.
Ordnance Cartouche and RA (Raritan Arsenal) stamp on the right, with accompanying second 'P' rebuild stamp on the pistol grip.
A couple of stamps I'm not familiar with, an 'X' in the barrel channel and a heavily (half inch character) hand stamped OI on the heel of pistol grip.
This isn't like the usual small discreet OI stamps, associated with manufacturer for Inland.
It came with a rather rough two rivet, deep sighting channel top wood, that's just about restorable, not sure about the marking here, looks like S2 HR, in two different stamps....
Any idea re manufacturer guys?

It could well be Charlie, very lightly stamped.....
Looking forward to getting a bit of workshop time in to restore it.
I'm going for three different specs.
It's original M1A1
guise.
M1 Carbine Walnut type 3
M2 Carbine, I've got the mag and pot belly birch stock, I might try to locate an M2 fun lever, not operational, purley for the look.
I remember reading somewhere that mock levers used to be available, are they still about guys?

I see new ones on Ebay over here, but seller says no outside US shipping.
I'll include picture.
If just for laughs....... Consider making one ?
Just forming a straight lever with drilled hole in the bottom for short screw, so it can move fore and aft.?
