Remington 1903 (M) Cartouches
Recently I’ve purchased a Remington 1903 S/N #3303000 with RLB cartouche instead of FJA. Stock has recoil bolt. I fear it is uncorrect or is possible were used both cartoches for a bit period?

RLB cartouche is correct for most of the Remington M1903 production and I think is correct for your serial number.

RLB cartouche is too early for a 3.3mil Remington 1903. My 3.2mil Remington has an unboxed FJA with reenforcing pins rather than bolts.

RLB...
My 3.16 mil. Rem. m1903 came in a "S" stock marled with a boxed "RLB"...It is my understanding that there were overlaps between '03s and 03A3s...Parts as well as Stocks, and cartouches.

I wish JB would find this thread and comment here. I have seen a thread somewhere in the past from him. "spread", large and small font, and boxed RLB cartouches by approximate year. It seems to me they were all early production rifles and stocks. A later 3.3 rifle would be correct with an Atwood marked stock with A3 attributes.
Wish I saved that Pearl from JB, but never fear, his book will reveal all.
My 3.2 late '42 rifle with Rem. stock sports a boxed RLB but it's been rebuilt, and a discussion with RTL said this was well into the A3 progression, and should be a pinned early FJA stock.
