Santa rode a fire truck on a 15 mile route through the town a couple of weeks ago. As for parades, they are doing reverse parades around here. The floats, etc are parked along the street and people drive their cars along the parade route to look at them. Not sure about entertainment as I haven't done one of them yet.
Our governor is starting to freak out again. Making threats of new whatevers to come because our hospitals MIGHT be overwhelmed. Not close to that yet but he wants people to panic now in advance.

Out of curiosity, I just checked the going rates of primers on gunbroker...about the only place you can find them. For small rifle, looks like it's up to ~$250+ per brick of 1000 on average, with sellers who promise to "legally" do the hazmat shipping raking in more. By my calculations and predictable shooting behavior, I'm about 1 year away from starting to ration my small rifle, but thankfully about 6 years away from needing to ration large rifle on my milsurps. Thankfully I don't shoot pistol all that often because I can't stand to lose so much brass, so what I have on hand will last a very long time. Powder situation is a bit tighter, about a 2 years worth of versatile IMR4064. I imagine powder supply will recover faster than primer. Local Cabela's puts out a dozen or so cans of a few popular types weekly. I think they may be rationing when they put it out. Bullets can still be had for the patient in store, albeit not in quantities more than a couple hundred at a time.
Also, looks like we are under a COVID curfew now 12pm-5am because "nothing good happens after midnight" according to our governor. Unenforced, and exceptions for going to and from work or getting "certain food items". I wonder if feral pigs are an essential food item under his new order? Now that it's getting cold, I've been meaning to put out a slop bucket under a full moon and see what happens.

Go for it, mate. Go for it.
My pals from Military School and I have started planning and executing illegal meetings around the country. We keep the distance and behave as expected, we’re officers!!!, but we just decided not to care about arbitrary limitations. If I can go about my own business keeping distance and mouth and nose cover, then I can go see friends, meet relatives, tour the country. Always respecting the rules. Authorities have to get at those who don’t respect the rules, not block the country because they’re unable to punish trespassers. So, even if we swore to protect the country, we decided that we can challenge it to be sensible. Let’s see how that turns out... next Saturday, we’ll meet in...

Tomorrow, pizza in the wood oven and marinated chicken on the bbq.
I have ordered some very special steaks, but the shop is closed due to Covid. They called me and promised to send double quantity to make good.
Not bad news!

Well, it has been awhile since I posted an update on the gun business in the Democratic People Republik of New Jersey. Sales are still rather brisk. The supply of medium and full size 9mm handguns seems to be the target market in the handguns. Glocks being the preferred models, Glock 17, 19, 19x and 45. Only received a small numbers of these handguns. Smith and Wesson M&P 9 in the Shield and M2.0 models are preferred models. We have been getting them pretty regularly now. The ladies are preferring the S&W M&P9 Shield EZ at this point with a number liking the S&W J-frame Chief's special models. AR platform rifles is what everyone wants. We have been getting mostly Diamondbacks and Windham Weaponry ARs, nothing NJ compliant. All have to be made NJ compliant before we can sell. Troy A4 Others are selling like no other. Troy is only producing them in 10.5 barrels, 5.56mm and black in color. Ammunition is very difficult to get in any caliber. It seems the manufacturer's are only producing tactical calibers for the moment. 9mm, .38 special, .40 S&W, and .45ACP in pistol. In rifle, .223/5.56mm with .308 Winchester, a distant second. No traditional hunting calibers like .30-30 Winchester or .35 Remington. In shotgun just 12 guage 2 3/4 inch 00 Buck with we have not had in a month. Only received one case of 500 round bulk packages of .22LR, first in 1 1/2 months, gone in an hour! Most of the ammunition that we are getting we are reserving two 50 round boxes for each pistol that we have for sale. There is nothing like trying to sell a pistol but have no ammunition for the gun! some of the folks in the gun industry is that they will not catch up with the demand until the second half of 2021. A few are even saying early 2022! well, that's it. Stay safe and secure! Keep your gun close at hand! Salute whatever flag they offer! Teach your children quietly right from wrong.

I haven't seen 22lr on a shelf outside of my house, nor online, since a year ago. I have a dozen bricks (10 boxes of 50) - may ration those first.

It's not too hard as I don't generally like being out in public around people at random anyway.
Funny thing, I went to turn around in a mostly empty parking lot the other day. There were two pickups and two gentleman talking. I kind of surprised them while they were shaking hands and getting ready to leave...they gave me a look that said "I hope you didn't see that....nothing to see here...ok we're guilty". Made me want to jump out and give em a hug.

Our idiot governor is pretending to have Covid now while he reinstates bans on gatherings. He had a positive test result as part of a daily check which as governor, he gets.......daily. Next day he was negative, following day was his second negative so he's now cured but still isolating. His wife never tested positive. In the meantime. No more indoor dining, bars, gyms, theaters are closed. No more than 10 people at any indoor event, 50 at any outdoor event. All extracurricular activities for schools are postponed until January 4th.
Sheriffs and District Attorney's across the state have already said they aren't going to enforce any of this. A lot of businesses are simply giving him the finger. Sadly, many are complying. Schools are complying, they don't really have a choice so my team is on hold for three weeks. They will have one practice before matches start. Of course every other school is in the same boat. They aren't ready now. Only have had two weeks of practice spread out over four. At this point, I don't care, I just want them to have the opportunity to compete this year. They are in good spirits, I'm feeling very dispirited for the first time.

In France
we are supposed to be out of "lockdown" on the 15th Dec; but that's not quite the case as starting on that date is a curfew from 8pm to 6am.
The curfew is to be lifted for the evening of the 24th; but not for 31st.
It's starting to get a bit frustrating!

With “respecting the rules” I mean that I have respect for those rules which protect the others. I don’t want to make anyone feel unsafe or unwell beacause of me. But that’s enough. I don’t believe in curfews, in closing pubs and restaurants after a certain time. That is all crap. But if someone walks on my side of the street and I see he or she wears a mouth protection, lifting mine does not cost me much.
But don’t fine me because, when I’m alone, I’m always without.
Concerning the guys in the parking lot: God save them. I miss handshakes...
