7.63 Mauser from Tokarov?
I know not try a factory Tokarov round through a C96 but would it be feasible to break down some Tokarov rounds, reusing the case/primer and bullet with an acceptable charge? Basically impossible to find the real deal around here now.
Thank you in advance for any input.

Yes it can be done.... but at what point is it done? 5% powder reduction? 10%...12%???????? You might be better off just dumping the powder and save it after making sure of what the original powder charge was.( in case you want to reload the powder back as Tok later.) An old favorite was 4.8 Gr. Bullseye with an 85 Gr. bullet as a factory duplication round. Case and bullet used with only powder replaced.

The way I read it is he intends to use a different and acceptable powder load for the ammo? You can't safely reduce unknown powder anyway. I agree the cases run through dies and use the live primer and bullet...all should work fine. It was the load that was dynamite.

Midway did make some 7,63mm cartridges and even had empty brass. You can form 223 Rem brass which requires some work
but not difficult, extractor groove dimensions is important on 223 brass as you really don,t want to damage your M96 extractor.

Starline makes the brass, periodically. As per their reputation, it is good stuff.
The other option, my nephews shoot CZ-52's and don't reload. S&B and Privi Partizan both make excellent Boxer primed brass cased ammo. I reload it for my C96.
