Help with Saginaw S.G. barrel proof mark

[USMC25]

Hi everyone, I just pick up a first block serial number 1943 M1 carbine with an Underwood receiver and a Saginaw S.G. barrel. It has what looks like a backward 3 proof mark, but I can't find any information on it. Thanks
