A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. That is neat. I think I would leave it as a lamp even if I was able to find a correct bolt. How much were they asking for the british one?

I believe $195 but price could be brought down. Had WWl helmet on it but it was painted in camo that was just done. I can let you know where it is. Might have an image of it somewhere.

I wouldn't laugh Medic. Trench art is way cool. I have some that my dad had made dury WWII by a Germanicon POW.

Wow! Reminds me of a very simliar lamp that occupied the "reading corner" in our old deer cabin for longer since before I was born. A WWI GEWicon 98 with one of those "butcher" type bayo's.
The cabin was built in the late 40's by the "doughboy" that brought the rifle home and his son who was a vet from the "next" war. I became part of the group in the late 60's. I recall often sitting under that lamp while reading the latest hunting and fishing tips that you could get from those issues of Field & Stream dated 1952.
