Major ammo score (for me anyway)
Has not been an ammo friendly environment lately. I pick up a box of shotgun shells here and there because it seems to be the only thing left.
Stopped in a small gun shop today for the first time and got three, yes THREE boxes of rifle ammo. 7-30 Waters, 6.5 Carcano and 7.65 Argentine. Average price of $20 a box.
Hard to believe this is slightly exciting.

Small shops tend to have stuff longer than the big ones. Worse with the big on-line shops. Especially for odd stuff.

Walmart had a box of 30-06 ammo on the shelf for $18.00. It came home with me. Funny thing was they had three 100 round boxes of 20 gauge shotgun shells, 7 1/2 shot. I checked it out, saw what it was and moved on. While waiting for the 30-06 shells, some guy came along and sweep all three into his cart. No idea why he would want three cases of 7 1/2 shot. So within two minutes of getting there, all the ammo was once again gone except for 28 gauge shotgun shells and one really odd rifle caliber that has been there the whole time. They were down to six guns. Had 20 or so last week.

finding ammunition
We have been really fortunate in finding .22 rimfire, 7.62x39mm, .45ACP and .38/.357 Magnum at a flea market in a neighboring town. Of course it's been high as the hair on a cat's back.

I can find ammo easy at gun shows. I'm just not willing to pay the price.
