Exactly what's happening. But I fear that the faith of too many people in this vaccine has been annihilated by now.
Craziest thing ever in all this mess.
I my very first post in the old thread I wrote that I hoped communication would be managed in a correct way. Over one year later, we are still facing a bunch of fools.
That caused, is causing and will keep causing tragedies that could have been spared.
In these days I would like to be in good old UK
or in Israel.
At least people there still think like men and not like modern ....pulp...
By the way, second birthday in jail, but this time I'm planning a "controlled jailbreak".

I agree with with you on the politics especially being an international forum. But to put complete faith in the "science" helps hide the reality of what is really taking place. I cannot speak for the other international members as I am not familiar with the specifics of their respective countries but in the US, the driving factor behind this pandemic is Money, lots of money. The last of which our politicians voted 1.9 trillion US dollars for "Covid19" relief little of which is spent on the pandemic itself. The real question everyone should be asking is, "How much of my tax paying money is being spent on the vaccine and who is getting the money?" I was a US Federal Investigator for 33 years and I always learned, "Follow the money and you will get the truth."

Yes, I agree totally as an ex Detective with over 30 years experience.
Sadly, by answering it, it will impinge on the site rules of avoiding politics at all costs!
Suffice it to say, we in the UK
, will, as we always do, have a massive enquiry into any issues that went wrong including the early days of PPE delivery. The causes of the pandemic will dissapear into the ether!!!
The scientists we have here, who advise the Government in the UK are ALL independent and have no financial power, and have to advise the Government on issues surrounding releasing lockdown or lockup and provide statistics on research and the current levels of recovery and mortality as I understand it.
They do not tell them what vaccines to buy. That is steered by, again, the independent agencies of the World Health Organisation and the European Medical Agency and the UK Board of Medicine, who are all "independent" and focussed on what is working after the correct trials have been conducted.
This virus came in quick, and those agencies and vaccine delivery companies IMHO have done an incredible job. My son was on the frontline with Ebola in Sierra Leonne for 6 months with the Royal Army Medical Corps, a disease that is still there.
At least with this virus, the vaccines provide a piece of respite and relief to so many, whilst they decide on additives for the future as it migrates like all vaccines.
For those out there who are scared of taking any of the vaccines, and especially Astra Zeneca, I suggest you read a Paracetomol box and see what the side effects are of them.............would you take them, of course you would! They have done a fantastic job in the time given to them.
Hope things can slowly return to normal, or as normal as the word implies.

I was sitting here on my computer this morning when an email came through. Openings for the J&J vaccine so I signed up and received it a little over an hour ago. Same one my wife got on Saturday. Apparently a lot of teachers cancelled their appointments after seeing how the first round went over the weekend. I got there 15 minutes early, went right in, was checked in, they took my temperature, sent me to a table with a nurse and less than 10 minutes after my arrival and before my appointment time I had the vaccine. They then had me sit quietly in another room for 15 minutes to make sure I wasn't going to keel over and then sent me on my way. I'm tired, achy and my right shoulder hurts but I was that way before I left the house. Got the vaccine in the left shoulder and don't even feel it. I expect I'll wake up tired achy and generally sore but I'm a 57 year old construction worker, I don't wake up any other way any more.
Prior to getting the email this morning, I turned the morning news on. Something I no longer do on a regular basis and I shouldn't have this morning. All it was was fear mongering about Covid. Seriously, here we are one year later and they are still managing to scare the crap out of people on a nearly daily basis.

Morning update. Woke up feeling rested. Don't feel sick in any way. The spot of the shot doesn't even hurt. Again, this was the one shot only dose from Johnson and Johnson.
A story came out yesterday about a confrontation between Dr Fauci, the guy leading the Covid effort in the US and Senator Ron Paul who is a physician by trade and education, one of the rare ones that is not a lawyer.
Apparently, Paul confronted Fauci on the Senate floor questioning his requirements for mask use. He stated correctly that Fauci wore a mask, possibly two, into the chamber before taking it off while socially distanced for the hearing. He called it theater because Fauci has been vaccinated and it's public knowledge. Fauci stated it is not theater and then proceeded to testify that the South African variant of Covid is not affected by the vaccines nor prior cases of the "normal" Covid. Sounds pretty alarming and coming from the guy in charge better be accurate. Did some checking and apparently not even close to being correct. Measured effectiveness of the vaccines are roughly 90% for the normal strain and 60% for the South African strain. Now that is a pretty big difference but also isn't anywhere close to being useless as claimed by the big guy. Fauci is also the same guy that told us one year ago and for three months that we should not wear masks, that masks were not effective and so on and so forth. This is one reason why people don't believe the science because the science has been corrupted by politics.
Paul pointed out that out of all the hundreds of millions of cases of Covid worldwide only five have been known to be the same individual getting it a second time which indicates that those that have it are immune. He then pointed out the immunity timelines for other viruses, some of which are essentially for the lifetime of the individual. We are being told very little about the vaccines immunity timeline. Some are saying months, some a year.
Fauci is correct that variants change things. Each mutation can be affected differently by prior illness or vaccines. The flu is the same flu that's been going on for 100 years, it just mutates into something slightly different.
Meanwhile, the CDC is producing guidelines for people that have the vaccine. And of course they don't make a lot of sense. You can all unmask if everyone had the vaccine but only if from one other household. If there are three households together you are all to mask anyway.
Now Paul did not have some ulterior motive here. He is not anti vaccine or anti mask, he just wants clarity and his entire point was people are NOT getting vaccinated. His position is that if there is an incentive to getting vaccinated, people will be more willing to do it. If they still have to wear a mask, they don't see the point.
On a personal level, I had no intention of getting either the Pfizer or Merck vaccines. I don't care for the experimental RNA basis they were developed. The Johnson and Johnson was done traditionally the way other vaccines are done. I have long suspected that both I and my wife had Covid back in January of last year and our reactions to the vaccine would seem to support that. As we already have the antibodies, having them introduced again in the vaccine didn't change anything, thus no reaction where others that did not have it are getting sick for a few days.

Steve,
Good to hear everything is fine in your household after a long year and your antibodies are working for you both.
Not sure why the scare mongering in respect of Astra Zeneca, but I suspect it will transpire, a bit of Government jealousy going on and probably share related, who knows and who cares, as long as it gets out there to help "everybody to survive" regardless of your country and thats what Her Majesties Government have done, they have sent millions of British
Tax payers paid vaccines to many African States and so they should..............we can't now disown them after hundreds of years of Colonialism!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay Safe and take whatever is offered, they have all been rigoursly tested is my advice!!

Had my Jab on Monday, (Oxford astra Zeneca) i was told I'll probably feel the side effects more as I've had Covid, well come Tuesday afternoon I was on my arse, totally floored me, just flue like symptoms hot/cold, aches all over and hurts when moving the eyes........ bit of Deja Vu from September, all gone by following evening.
Having had food poisoning for over two weeks now probably made feel a lot worse too, as soon as I eat within 4-6 hours I'm on the pot nearly every hour....... Dr finally agreed to look into getting me something today as its close to 3 weeks, only good thing is the weight loss which was needed but wasn't planning on this type of diet. 12kg lost.......
Having had Covid last year and suffering ill health long after, I'd advise anyone not to hesitate and get the jab, like Gil says listen to the science and not bitter EU politicians, very happy to get mine, one of the news readers on Sky news commentated on the day she had hers, she was overwhelmed with emotion and had a tears in her eyes not just because there was light at the end of the tunnel but said it was all down to the quick and very efficient process the way it was done, have to agree with her, our vaccination roll out is a remarkable feat, good job I put my X in the right box in June 2016......

Geoff,
So sad to see so much bickering in Europe over this whole debarcle of Astra Zeneca, Oxford didn't approve it, it was approved by an independent world renowned tested centre and backed by the European Medicne test centre and the WHO.....................we are not being told everything..............so easy to blame somebody, damage done!!
There is something going on at levels higher than our pay grade...............so pointless and will cost so many lives.
I understand from a good English friend stuck in Holland thousands of AZ vaccines have been wasted whilst they arguedover falsely made statements!!!! Disgraceful IMHO
