Nicest (CHEAP) NEW 1911A1 on the Market Currently
Thanks you all for having me here today I appreciate you reading my stuff! I wanted to share some honest opinion on what I think is the nicest NEW 1911A1 clone on the market today. SDS Imports is bringing in these Turkish
made 1911s that are quite nice! They have minimal markings and all the parts are easily interchangeable with major manufacture brand 1911 parts. Attachment 114557 I upgraded this example in the picture with a Wilson Combat spring kit and forged Wilson Combat firing pin and stop. The Pros: Many! This pistol is very minimal in what I would call tasteful markings on the gun unlike many other 1911 clones that have billboard writing all of the gun which I do not like. Has an excellent finish on the service model that would hold up well and the frame and slide or both forged parts. EXCELLENT frame to slide fit. "Series 70" all parts interchangeable and easily upgradable. The slide also fit on my Colt 1911 frame perfect with no problems! They also make several different models including a US Army clone with correct features like arched mainspring housing and lanyard loop. Cons: Some! There is some MIM parts (look it up if you dont know) that are not an issue and keep the cost low on the pistol. Hammer is MIM but it is a NON ISSUE however I would change out the firing pin stop with a forged part. Cost me $6 bucks.
All in all an excellent pistol and a faithful reproduction of a classic thats extremely reliable and feeds ALL AMMO! If your looking for a shootable and multi role pistol with nostalgia factor and dont want to sacrifice an original military GI model than this is the ticket. Cheap and affordable but its also more than that too! Thanks for reading my review have a nice day!

Just one of the things against Norinco 1911 types. Their use of ill fitted mim parts would be another.

Randy, Nice--I've had my eye on one of those. The points you made about the markings and finish are what I like. Thanks Salt Flat

One of our club members recently purchased a parkerized Tisas SDS 1911A1. Very nice, at $399 quite a bargain. I plan to purchase one.

I bought 2 of the Remington R1 models new about a year after they came out, IIRC advertised as Remington 100 years celebration of the Colt design. The R1's were just the plain jane versions, which I liked since they looked more authentic except for the large Scripted R1 on the slide. One was going to be a gift and I planned to keep one to beat on to save wear on my more expensive models. First outing I can't remember was hitting high or low but it was eating everything I tried- Hollow point, FMJ Ball and Lead. Feeding was great, Ejection was even better! Called Remington about the frt sight and they sent me out a replacement 3 piece frt sight set for both including- short, taller, tallest blades. I never got the chance to give the extra one away so I still have both. I purchased thru our buyers group and had less than $1,000 for the 2. I don't have a complaint, though 1 has much more use on it, the other is a extra for friends of family.
So my point is I know some of the inexpensive 11's can keep you happy.
Questions about the SDS Turk made A1's...... How is the barrel port/feed ramp? And is the Ejection Port enhanced? Good to go on Hollow points ?
Any word on current availability ?
Thx,

I bought the army model, and love it...I shoot all cast bullets, and it will eat any shape
or design bullet I have. It is the closest 1911a1 clone I have seen. It does have the
lowered ejection port, but that's all I can see. The workmanship is great and it is very
accurate. I have about 400 rounds through mine and have never had a problem with it.
There getting a little pricey now, but still, for the money, there still a great deal.

I got a smoking deal on a complete upper from PSA and I am impressed
with the quality of the copy of the original.
