LS & A Co Mk3
From all I can glean LSA continued to make Mk 3’s long after 1916 and the introduction of the Mk3* build spec.
The question, when did LSA make their last Mk3’s and did they make any Mk3*? ( do not have , Skenerton to hand).

Sorry typo, should read LSA & Co.

LSA's production of the Mk III until 1918 has no official published reason that is known, some speculate it was to supply the Navy with arms since they still "required" the magazine cut off, but again it is only speculation. LSA did make the Mark III* in the second half of 1918 with approximately 50,000 units, a rarer SMLE Mk III* version.

I have a NZ
marked 1918 lsa mk111* with no magazine cutoff slot in the receiver, must be a very late one as it's the only lsa I have seen without the slot.

LSA didn't switch to the MkIII* until 1918 prior to that they were still producing the MkIII with the cutoff.
