Japanese Nambu Type 14
I feel really out of touch, prices are just silly right now. There is a Japanese
Nambu Type 14 at a local gun shop and they want $1600.00 US Biden Buck$ for it. I just don't know, I just don't know.
It reads: Japanese Nambu Type 14 - A piece of history you can hold in your hand. WWII Japanese military pistol in excellent condition. Chambered in 8mm Nambu and fitted with 4.5? barrel. Comes with original factory grips, holster, cleaning kit and aluminum magazine.

If not this one, and I think you've been lusting after one a while...then when? Or how much more will you pay?

That's near double what I've seen them go for in the past 2 years.

I'd like one but its not on my dream list, If I'm going to dump that kind of coin I think I'd go after a nice German
Lugar or early 1911

No way in hell I'd pay anywhere near that for a Nambu. I paid $600 for mine and overpaid at the time. Yes they have gone up, yes that appears to be better than average but you are talking Luger prices there and a Nambu ain't no Luger.
I only paid $1100 for my Luger and it came with a holster.
People are going nuts right now at the buying and selling end. Nagant revolvers for $700 is also nuts. They get these stimulus checks and for a lot of guys a guns the first thing they think of. Sales are through the roof. Personally, I'm looking for a Broomhandle but I'm not going to pay a ridiculous price for one.

Yeah.. I sort of stepped away from buying because of the prices. Even Used Remingtons are going for stupid prices; Rifles that were $300 used a few months ago are now around $500. The only things I seriously looking for right now is a Savage 12 FV in .223 and a Bagara B-14 Hunter in .243 Win for my youngest son.

It is one of the earlier ones with the small trigger guard, so that's cool, but ouch! Awful steep. If you do get one, and plan to actually shoot it, buy a couple of firing pins. They snap off regularly. That's why they have a special slot for a spare one in the holsters. Also, be prepared to do lots of playing around with loading for them.

If it has two matching mags, it might be worth it. One matching mag, maybe $1,100 on a brisk day of bidding.
If no matching mag, then it is 100% overpriced.

A complete Nambu all matching with matching magazine, cleaning rod, spare firing pin, holster and strap are now being valued at the $1500 to $1600 level. I was shocked when told by collectors that this is now what they are worth now. Even the ugliest pistol ever made the type 94 Nambu is now going for some serious money. In fact it seems the Luger has stopped rising in price but looking at Gun Broker you would not know it by the asking prices. But the Lugers are just not selling for the stupid money that they had been.

I'm not seeing that on gunbroker for either 94's are in the $500-$600 range which is about where they were a year ago. 14's are in the $700-$900 range which also seems close to last year for good condition examples, maybe a little higher.
The real problem pistol is the Nagants which are going between $500-$700 for import marked refurbs. That I just don't get.
