Here are my two rifles, this mod is very much post service but functional. I based it on descriptions by PL and others.

Seems the bolt is dragging on the sight # 1 pic (I think its called the cursor happy to be corrected)

Sort of, that rifle is a mk2, and with the bolt head release at the back it is a tad more fiddly to get out particularly as I had a rather bulkier sight fitted the other day. I need to touch up the finish a tad. With the L1A1 or an L13A1 it works well.

IIRC when I started doing the mod the bolt head sometimes caught on the edge of the cursor, hence the little bit of meat removed from cursor as well as the bottom underside of the sight leaf.

Roger,
How much of the cursor did you remove? I presume you didn’t go all the way through the back plate?

Michael, no, I just 'dished' it slightly using a half round file, & the bead blasted it, parkerised it & re-suncorited it.

Not sure I would want to do that in the field, no backup sight option dosent seem like a great idea if things go south!
