Lance - your info is very interesting. Your pix shows a rifle serial number "44L5177" and mine is "44L5178" - you can't get much closer than this. Same lettering, paint color etc. Lee Enfield - I have seen the LB production number some where. Confirmation of the 1943 production volume would validate the fact that LB No4 T's were manufactured in 1943. We have 2 good serial numbers.
Any other 1943 LB No4 T's out there?

Ron, I have a 1943 LB 4T serial 39Lxxxx, scope was originally what looks like 10-C according to the markings on the wrist of the stock but I when I acquired the rifle it came with scope 271-C.
If anyone knows of that scope 10-C, I'd be v. keen to hear of it...

Many years ago DD I think I used to own the 39L rifle that is now yours. I had a mis-matched Mk1 or Mk1A REL on it, but in some years of keeping my eyes open for the matching scope I never managed it........but never give up, it may be out there just waiting for you to find it!

Not quite, but 11-C is known to exist.
