Is it an antique, curio and relic, or modern firearm?
Hello Everyone,
This is my first post. It is nice to find a forum for my interests in military surplus arms. What brings me here today is an old Trapdoor Springfield that has been sporterized. The seller who is an out of state FFL says he does not need to send it to a licensee. I have checked the ATF definitions and cannot find an answer. The gun is over 100 years old but has been sporterized with a shortened to 27 in. barrel and cut down stock. Therefore, it is not in original condition and it can fire modern made and available ammunition. Is the dealer correct in saying I do not need to have an FFL? Many thanks for sharing your expertise.

Pleased to be here.
Hello all.
I've been a gun enthusiast for well over 60 years. In that time I've owned and enjoyed a number of Enfields including a very nice Mark V Jungle Carbine. More recently I acquired a Norwegian 1895 / 97 Krag-Jorgensen 6.5X55 carbine manufactured in 1922. The rifle has been sporterized with monte carlo stock and a Karl Kaps 2.5 Pwr scope. In trying to research the rifle I landed on this amazing site. I'm anticipating learning lots here.

Hi everyone!
Could anyone throw any light on MK 1 Bren gun serial number D8027? Possibly looking to purchase this gun but a bit curious that 'DP' has been engraved on the barrel
