It's just bent, I could fix that in a few minutes work.

It doesn't look bent in person though, the angles on the corners are pretty clear. The erm, part the screw goes through is also much shorter than a normal one. Someone elsewhere was joking the original was lost and I got an Italian
bubba special.

I vote for bent. How tight is the screw? Mine came with the band screw barely threaded in, so the gap showed like your pic. Your first pic looks like it's twisted out a bit at the point, unless that is just the lighting. Ignore the jokers. They are just jealous they didn't get one.

I believe it is a spaghetti sling swivel......or else it is just bent...but it does look like the rounded center part is shorter than normal.

When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

I myself already have four, so $1,800 or more to buy another just didn't seem reasonable.

Looks bent and ground short. I've got an early band that's been ground short so some bubba could use a later band screw on an early band. The screw doesn't fit unless they make the cylinder part shorter.

Depends on what it is. Of course I'd pay that for something worth more than 1800.

Appreciate all the feedback, guess it is likely bent and maybe ground a bit short. I don't think the screw is too loose - the handguard and barrel seem to be holding in place well and I don't want to tighten it more and risk cracking the wood. I'll probably suck it up and buy a replacement with the correct length.
