Canadian Ranger No. 4 Mk 2 w/ Provenance and Acc's

    https://www.gunpost.ca/firearms/rifl...nance-and-accs

Not my area of expertise, but I thought that prior to being issued the Colt C-19 (C19 Ranger Rifle)/( Tikka T3 CTR bolt action rifle), the Canadianicon Rangers were issued with either Long-Branch No. 4 Mk 1* or the EAL No. 4 Mk. 1 Military pattern rifles.

This rifle has been sold, so I don't know how long it will be up on the net.

    Any comments?

    A long time now.

    Comment: over-priced.

Much changes, much remains the same.

All of the items he has for sale tend to be pricey, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

Question is, were the Canadianicon Rangers issued the No. 4 Mk. 2, or is he selling a "Irish Contract" Fazakerley?

Some Canadian Rangers were issued No4MK2 ROF rifles, certainly the majority were No4MK1* made by Longbranch. There are roughly 33 Rangers in our local patrol group. I have personally viewed all the issued rifles! During exercises which involved numerous other patrols I tried as best without being too nosey and found the results to be much the same.

A friend of mine did armorer here for the unit HQ for a time and stated clearly that he'd had every manufacturer and every mark and feature seen in #4 rifles in his supplies. That was back in the end of the '80s too...
    Regards, Jim
