    Frank Mallory in his book, "The Kragicon Rifle Story", (second edition, page 210), reported - "Gas escape hole (b) moved 0.25" rearward: late 1895 or early 1896 (36000)"

    FWIW - Krag Serial number 36000 should date from around July, 1896.

    Your bolt should be 'correct'.
