Fortunately I have found the missing parts, and were able to move on to other pressing issues with the rifle. I am working on the headspace, truing it up.
The Arisakabook has helped me a lot figuring out the correct parts. It's difficult to find a model 38 rifle with a intact mum, that has seen the battlefield.
Most receivers are defaced, stamped over, ruined, used for schools, etc., but this one is pristine, nothing but the original factory markings. Best of all is it is a model 38 from the 1930's, It's made by the Japan government, under strict building requirement assuring a quality rifle, A safe rifle, once it has been restored.
