Another T99

Picked this one the other day.
Bolt doesn't match, safety doesn't match bolt or rifle, handguard cut back, missing cleaning rod, screws unstaked, bore is a pipe.

Good things, great bluing, aircraft sights, Mum.

Overall in fair condition.

Then there was this. While cleaning butt plate, I saw lettering, so more Kroil & wait......more lettering.

This is what I found.

Going to be tough to part with this one.

Interesting safety knob. Hopefully you can find an upper handguard. Found a Google reference to a Theodore Lewis Mienders Jr born in August of 1926 and passing in October of 1982. His obituary picture portrays him smiling and proudly wearing his US Navy uniform in 1944. He resided in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The obituary lists family information if you are interested.
