Found one of my books, the larger one. "The FrenchForeign Legion, A complete History of the Legendary Fighting Force" by Douglas Porch.
No weapons section but they are mentioned here and there. One notable is that they were using Lebels and MAS 36's in Indochina in 1950. The weapons were being dropped in bundles and the troops went in with a fighting knife. Doesn't sound very efficient to me. Mentioned shortages of firearms.Information
