    Found one of my books, the larger one. "The Frenchicon Foreign Legion, A complete History of the Legendary Fighting Force" by Douglas Porch.

    No weapons section but they are mentioned here and there. One notable is that they were using Lebels and MAS 36's in Indochina in 1950. The weapons were being dropped in bundles and the troops went in with a fighting knife. Doesn't sound very efficient to me. Mentioned shortages of firearms.

    Dien Bien Phu (NW Viet Nam 1954) Foreign Legion used alot of WW2 US small arms, MAS 36 and CR39 rifles
