Type 99
Got this Type 99 from a pawn shop and cleaned her up. She looks a lot better than she did. Been trying to get the markings down and this is what I have so far.
*Japanese lettering underneath where mum should be say Type 99
* I've gathered that it is from the Kokura Arsenal
* Not certain but I want to say a 22 series but unsure
* coulda been made anywhere from 1939-1945
Wondered if anyone sees something else to help get more info. I definately have no clue what symbol is on the stockAttachment 119662Attachment 119663Attachment 119664Attachment 119661Attachment 119665Attachment 119666Attachment 119667Attachment 119668

Doozie,
You have a pretty good idea of what you have there. You are correct in that it is a 22nd series made at the Kokura Arsenal. The bolt is matching. The rear stock inspection stamp you show (se) is the Kokura 2nd factory inspectors stamp.
You have a few missing parts from when it was issued but overall you have a nice rifle and it would be a very good shooter if you desire with the chrome lined bore.
