Interesting they seem to have an 1980 L42A1 too!
Issued to BAOR in 1980’s

I would be interested to see if the serial number comes back as anything for that rifle too, again the engravings on the side look a little off to my eye in terms of depth and style even for a 1980 conversion.

What original list?

The Enfield ledger I believe, it lists most L42 conversions by serial number and conversion batch/date.
