German Occupation Hi-Power Magazine Inquiry

Good day, folks,

I’m currently considering a German Occupation Hi-Power that a trusted vendor has available, but am wondering if the magazine that comes with it is correct or not.

The piece in-question is a part of the 78***a serial range (1943 production) and comes with an unmarked ww2 magazine. With this said, I’m wondering if this mag might be too “early” for this serial range, and whether or not a WaA140
marked magazine would be considered more era-correct instead? I can’t seem to find a definite answer on when the Germans switched from the marked to unmarked magazines, so any information would be greatly appreciated.

I don't suppose the Germans were that bothered if the magazine had the "correct markings" on it.

I’d suspect that during wartime they were just happy to have a magazine that functioned. As for dating them, it appears that there were a series of WaA___ markings used during the earlier years of the war, with a transition to a sort of “U” shaped marking (which could’ve been sideways) in the latter part. I’d suspect someone here has more knowledge than myself on it.
