A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. RIA 386XXX serial number with SA barrel

I am looking at purchasing an RIA 1903 with serial number 386XXX. It has a SA barrel, dated 5/18. It also has a Lyman Peep Sight. Original sight is still installed and the front sight looks to be the original blade. Is it possible that the serialized receiver was sent to Springfield Armory to complete the gun. Not sure if it is possible that the Lyman sight was arsenal installed. Sight looks to be a 48S.

    New Guy!

    West coast new guy here.

This year, got into collecting 1903s and 1917s. Great fun to restore wood and steel warhorses!

    Happy to be here!

    Anyone help identify this Mauser?

Good morning! I occassionly have trouble identifying mauser rifles. I appreciated any information other members have. Currently I am trying to identify one from my father's estate. I have some info on it but not sure which model it is/was. TIA
Here are a couple of photos:
