One of the few authors who had a generally accurate view of firearms.
I discovered him in the late '80s and remember being impressed with his accurate description of TT33's...
too many authors and politicians have the "magic wand" view of firearms effects.

he used a little "poetic" justice" at times, like gatling guns at roakes drift, but that's to be forgiven.
THE SUNBIRD is a really good book to make into a movie.

Don't think I've read any of his books , but I just watched " Shout at the Devil " and it was quite good

Never heard of him. What Genre? Military of some sort by the looks.

Adventure and drama. Africa or Africa related, especially South Africa and Rhodesia. Not hunting stuff. Some today, some going back centuries. Some about Egypt thousands of years ago. All good reads.

WHEN THE LION FEEDS, THE ROAR OF THUNDER, and A SPAROOW FALLS, to be read in that order, are three of my favorites.
