Jeep shovel
I've been collecting entrenching tools for years and figured a Jeep shovel would be a nice addition to the collection. Been looking for about two years now. Not having a lot of luck. Found one at an antique shop but they wanted way too much for it.
Cleaning out my shed today and found a damn jeep shovel in it. Not kidding. I have no idea how long I've had it or where I got it but that's what it is. Obviously, I probably got it at a yard sale somewhere as a nice short shovel to use for work.
I suspect it was once a fire companies shovel as it once had a red handle. Fits the description of the 1940's style, only marked 2 Heat Treated on the shovel steel portion. No idea if it's period or not for WWII as they apparently had everyone making them and they don't have the manufacturer's mark on them but it'll do for me.

I just cleaned out my shed today looking for a Luger P-08......all I found was an inflatable duck for the pool and some broken tree trimmers....since I am on COVID lockdown for a few more days, I am going to try again tomorrow......I did find an M44 in one of my safes that I had forgotten about! Hope you are having a Happy New year!

So...was there one to begin with or is this just a clever ploy to go out and buy one?

No, there wasn't one to start with, but I have high hopes and an insufficient budget to take the lazy way out and just buy one! Unfortunately, my wife is smarter than I am so I can't use ploys anymore either!

I wish I found a Luger out there also, but alas, just a Jeep shovel. Finding a gun you forgot about is always fun though. I'm that way with books. I am finding great books all over the house all the time that I forgot I had.
