You all are the best!
I spent my birthday, and about the whole week, in the hospital with my daughter, barely double digits in age, as she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I'm thankful the hospital pandemic restrictions had eased so I could at least stay at her side the whole time. I'm still processing it all, and aching at the thought of why such things happen to kids - the most underserving of it.

For my birthday, my dog bought me a bubba'd Remington m1903, currently being brought back to life over in the 1903 forum. She normally poses proudly with her gift, but my daughter and I were too quick to take it all apart and start working on it since we came home from the hospital. We are busy learning a new routine, and building the new habits she needs to deal with her long-term diagnosis, but fortunately for now, plenty of time in the shop chatting up and helping her old man, with our pup napping under the workbench, is still part of the daily schedule.
