A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. No, not Pederson, but good guess, it was a toggle-action rifle. He did invent the en bloc, sued SA and won.

So, the White toggle-action .30-06 prototype rifle... Not very common.

Not early but rare, the silver tuna:

This is an ordinary SA-marked Springfield M1icon Garand clip. However, in about 1963, the Army competition team took a small batch of these over to the Columbia Bicycle Company shop in New York City to be polished and chromed for use in national competition. They function incredibly smoothy and are easy to spot in the grass.

I see that HA is listed as foreign made. I thought a company in the US also made HA enblocs, maybe with periods? Here are a few cut out clips for comparison, wra’s, small o, unmarked, and with just a C.

Not my error, that list came from a site dedicated to the sale of M1icon parts and clips and that is their list of manufacturers.

Ed, not your error, mistakes sometimes continue on without a correction on data and parts for the M1icon rifle

Clips marked "DAQ" were made on contract for the US post WW II. Dominion Arsenals Quebec sub contracted the manufacture out to Valcartier Industries Inc.

---------- Post added at 04:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:28 PM ----------

"H.A" marked clips were contracted to Horle Arms Co. in the mid 1960s, manufacture was sub contracted to a shop in Deep River CT. Used mostly for foreign aid. They are one of the few manufacturer codes still on the clip drawing. (F 6528288).

The code shown on the drawing for Aggressive Eng. Corp. (AEC)is their new code, ( post 1989 ), all clips manufactured by Aggressive for military contracts were marked AGE.
