To be fair, there SHOULD be a pit of water underneath so if they fall it's a spring bath. Our pit usually drained in the warm weather so, hard to say what's down there.

It was said in jest because, from what I've seen from documentaries, UK
assault courses appear to now have "safety-nets" installed, where they didn't previously, if there is a risk from falling from a significant height. Obviously I don't know if this is the case with all UK assault courses or just some.

I get you...the heights vary but usually obstacle courses aren't so high. A confidence course is different, they are built high to instill confidence that you can trust your own capabilities. Obstacles are used to cover approaches and are also covered by fire...musketry...
