Tag in Carbine Slingwell ?

A few questions about GB # 932927426.

Anyone ever seen a tag like this one?


I see only a single Op Slide take down notch on the receiver.
Possible Spring Tube?

See Recoil plate relief.
Look like a IR replacement stock to you?

Lastly on The CCCF we were talking about a Circled 3 on the right rear side of some receivers.
Think this could this be one?


Any other observations ??

Charlie, Front notch only observed on early Inlands to around serial 54050. Agree likely an IR stock. Hard to tell on the circle on the right side wish it had a better picture, also wish there was a clearer picture of the tag in the sling well. The magazine is downright ugly!

I was being lazy last night..... the books and CCNL's were waaaaay over in the next room

Got a few appointments I'm off to.
I'll try to contact the seller for more pics, to include internals and barrel make/date.
That tag has my interest. I have a couple Korean marked stock/storage area tagged stocks, but tags are on the right side.
I don't recall seeing one tagged in the slingwell before.

It's worth noting, yet again, that the Irwin made stocks are not the only ones with the gap behind the plate. I've seen WRA, Overton and Trimble wood with pretty much the same gap and doesn't include the various M2 stocks out there. Throw in the cast recoil plates that cause a similar look and it can an interesting evaluation.

I agree with all the above Del, but seems most examples of I've seen were later production stocks with the larger profile relief cut for the recoil plate.
Maybe.... Trying to cure cracking behind the plates ?
I'm sure it prolly helped but admit to hating the look.

Looks like that stock has a coke bottle profile to me.

Here's one with a cast recoil plate - has the gaps, but I thought it was due to the "repro" stock. Are you sayin' the plate by itself can cause it? - Bob

Not sure how a cast recoil plate can cause the stock's recoil plate recess to appear almost squared off at the rear. Here are pics of the GB stock next to two IR stocks.
