Is that the KOSB hat badge and shoulder flashes Warren, for the eagle eyed there is also a Mons star with clasp & rosette along with a miniature mons star, general service & victory bar plus an Old Contemptibles Asc badge. Might take a close up the medal it is in very nice condition and is named.

Post script Pics ~ 1914 Mons Star T 1 - 266 Dvr R Plumley ASC, Old Contemptibles Asc Badge, Miniature Mons Star Ribbon Bar.

Postscript book on the Mons Star ~ I have this sitting on my bookshelf regarding the history behind the Mons Star and the Old Contemptible's and the early battles.
There were only 230,000 Mons Star medals issued to members that were in range of the enemies guns in 1914.
Of course by the time 1915 came around there were not many of the Old boys left and even less by the time the armistice was signed.
So many WWI stories linger on my shelves and when you get into reading some of them it really beggars belief what they endured in 1914 to 1918.
One book I have is called Hot Blood & Cold Steel its pretty brutal first hand narration by the person being bombarded, bayonet charges etc nasty stuff indeed.
