that type of blank adopter was from the late 1950's - early 1960's (I have one but never thought to take a photo)

I had one of those back in the '80s got 1000 blanks for $10.00 took my most beat-up blue sky Garand out back to the local farmer's dump and proceeded to blast away. Halfway through the second clip rifle stopped cycling on closer inspection I had launched the gas cylinder, B F A and gas cylinder lock screw off into the wild blue yonder never to be seen again
