F7F-3n Tigercat in Korea 1952
The F7F Tigercat was too late for WW2 and too old for Korea. Some were converted to two seaters for use as night fighters with limited service in Korea. Photo shows a F7F-3N from VMF 513 at Wonsan Korea in 1952 with two aircraft kills at night.
I have seen the Tigercat at airshows years ago, really interesting aircraft

I haven't seen one for years, 1993 Wroughton Air display here in the UK
for memory.
We used to have a Tiger Cat, Bearcat and a Skyraider based at Duxford years ago.

Grumman XP-50 of 1940
Grumman entered a twin engine fighter interceptor in the 1939 military request but lost out, this was for both army & navy. Grumman tested their single example in 1941 called the XP-50 but supercharger blew-up and aircraft was lost in May 1941.
XP-50 max speed 424 mph, ceiling 40,000 ft rate of climb 5000 FPM
Two 20mm and two 50 cal mgs in nose
Grumman continued to work on this design which developed into the XF7F-1 (Tigercat)

There were two Tigercats at Airventure a couple of weeks ago. A Hellcat and at least one Wildcat too. IIRC they did a Navy heritage flight with one of the two Bearcats that were also there at one point in the week.
