Here we go again!
This was discussed here quite some time ago about these planes and their possible whereabouts well they may have just been found.
I only graze read the article but apparently there may be quite a few somewhere from 36 - 60 planes!
Will let it develop!
From the Daily Mail UK
Buried squadron of spitfires discovered in the Burmese jungle after being tracked down by a British
plane enthusiast could take to the skies again 'within three years'
Farmer David Cundall worked for 16 years to find where the planes were buried in crates
Spitfires, thought to have been buried in the jungle after WWII, believed to be in good condition due to careful containment
Planes will be returned to the UK for restoration when archaeologists begin digging them up in January
Mr Cundall believes they will be flying at air shows within the next three years....!

Can't wait for that.................the Mail again???
The same paper who said yesterday that The Parachute Regiment were not going to be able to jump out of the A400 as they hadn't done any jumps training and their current chutes were no good and were to be a grounded unit.
WRONG the Regimental trials team have been doing jumps for 5 years!!!!!

The one benefit of Covid has been this ludicrous story has been dormant for longer than it usually is before rearing its silly head again.
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

Thats about the top and bottom of the story. Legit remains in a hangar with other parts sold to an inquisitive U.S buyer...................now can we all go back into sleep mode please

I can't see anything recent online concerning this story, except this thread.
One can imagine the "reaction" that one may receive, from senior Burmese airforce officials, if one was to ask "if they minded" if "deep excavations" were carried out at some of their airfields.
