Lee Enfield BSA Air rifle trainer
Hi all,
Well every day's a school day, new one on me and it will be facinating to see how much this BSA Long Lee Enfield, Air Rifle trainer goes for!
One of only 400 made by BSA prior to 1914...
I ran it past the 'chancellor', but was refused on economic grounds!

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

You wouldn't happen to have a temporary range on the landing would you Alan, with a red flag on the stairs?...

No sorry - but I have got an outdoor 600 yard range certfied for up to 303.
It was quite funny as the Police told me I couldn't use 7.62 on my land as it was only rated for 303.
I had to go "right to the top" and explain the difference in measuring the 303 and 762, such that if the same techniques are used the 303 is actually 7.7
In the end they gave me an 'open licence' allowing me to determine what land was suitable for what calibres and any land I shot over did not require a Police inspection before use.

How is one of these classed in the UK
, i.e. as an air rifle that any adult, over the age of 18 can buy, or is it classed as a "realistic imitation firearm" with the associated restrictions on who can legally purchase it?

I'm guessing normal air rifle legislation F10, so 18 plus and sub 12ftlb muzzle energy.
Unless you love in Scotland, as you need a special licence ... You couldn't make it up!!
You need a license to fart north of the border..

No, farts are the exception to the licensing rule. That's why we have so many wind farms up here.
But in all seriousness, don't forget if you bring your airgun (or air "weapon" as its referred to in the licensing regs) up from down South you'll have to apply for a visitors permit first. Your full bore stuff is ok "as is" though!
