Very nice. Maybe we can mate them and split the pups?

1116 & 1117 I wonder if they ended up together at the same trials.
This one was sold through Weller & Dufty circa 1981, the chap I acquired it from has had it since 1985, still have the original 1985 invoice for £275

"R101": not on an airship was it?
"BD" for "Balloon Department"?
There was such a department from the Victorian Era to WWI at least from a little cursory googling...
Wouldn't be a bad place to issue a limited number of rifles unlikely to be used much!

Reason: More
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928
Much changes, much remains the same.

There was one for sale in the UK
which had a .303 caliber barrel - is this the one? Or is yours still in original .276 caliber?

No it isn't that one.
This one is all original & in .276, it still has the 1981 Proof Exemption Certificate because Ammunition was not available

Very nice grouping to be sure. I've never ran across one of these in all my years. To see 4 of them in one photo is stunning.
