I don't think that's the reason. A lot of people post here just to share what they have and ask general reference questions like you suggest. A French forum really makes sense as they were a major power in the world and have a rather unique everything when it comes to firearms.

You could argue that you can't have every nation in the world and i agree with that, but the US and Great Britainicon/Commonwealth have multiple forums on individual rifle types. Germanyicon doesn't have a forum either, but everyone just posts everything German in the Mauser section and it works.

Back in the day when I was still buying things and was seeking or purchasing French rifle after French rifle, I wanted a French forum real bad, for both information and to show off things.

    Rare French rifles & carbines

Always wanted an original Lebel WW1 sniper rifle, very difficult to locate. interesting that the Lebel rifle was the only service rifle to be used as a sniper with scope.

    There was also a
small number of Lebel rifles that had the Winchester A5 scope installed - could have been for testing ?

The other rare Frenchicon carbine is the CR39 bolt action with folding stock. Often faked years ago with SARCO parts making originals quite rare
