Not sure how to post pics but here is a link. The rifle turned up in NM.. a collector friend bought it and I did a deal with him. It is truly a great rifle.. Dave McClain commented one of the nicest he’s seen..

Thank you!
I’ve been asked about the bracket being un-serialized. Per the GCA
(Garand
Collectors Association) the first @1400 M1C’s did not have brackets which were serialized. The thought on this is the brackets were never meant to be removed.. hence there was no thought to serializing them. My C is an early rifle with original finish and has never had its bracket removed. So no serialization is 100% correct and original
Once the issues with heat treating and accuracy were discovered the later C’s had brackets which were serialized. WW2 serialization will be on the bottom of the bracket. Post WW2 on the side.
Also Ricky B has previously verified the stock stamps as original.
I’m constantly looking for the original serialized mount. It would be super cool to reunite the two!
Thanks again

Very nice... I also have one of the first 1,000 M1C made with the original unmarked bracket, also in nice shape.... 32519XX. K-line, flashider, G&H Mount but no original M81/82 scope. That is an exceptional rifle and especially the scope... about the nicest I've ever seen.
