You should be able to do that by double clicking beside the title on the index page, or by editing using the "go advanced" option.

the advanced option only allows me to edit the title inside the post, not the index title however, on CGN the advance option would indeed be able to the title edit.

CGN is using an older version of VBBS...

To change thread titles on v3.6.4, simply view the list of threads, place your mouse cursor immediately under the title and "double click". The title of the thread will now appear in a edit box and you can change it to anything you want....
