Straw boxes weren't. Looks like Jonathan Winters having a laugh on centre right, and the guy on the extreme right clowning with his cap is somehow familiar too. Driver looks a little resentful.

How they got away with three stars on each mudflap I don't know.

I'm thinkin' this is post Korea but maybe about '58? Or so...? Note the buttonless shirt cuffs of the corporal leaning left.

The vehicle is a designated coffee wagon of the red cross girls. Thus the odd decorations.
