Cpl. Donald C. Blackman of Longsport ID (sitting) and Cpl. Joseph L. Lasleur of Stillman, Valley, IL, keep a sharp lookout for Chinese Communist troops at their post near the front lines In Korea. Both are members of the 27th Inf Regiment
Donald C. Blackman, age 85, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 12:08 p.m., on Friday, June 13, 2014, in his residence in Gainesville, Florida.
Born on May 5, 1929, in Burnettsville, Don was the son of Otis G. and Xenaclea J. Blackman.
On February 12, 1972, in Illinois, he was married to Mary F. Baker, who survives in Gainesville.
Don moved to Florida in 1992, and retired as a security guard for Pinkerton Security Company.
A United States Army veteran, he was a member of the Korean War Veteran Association Chapter # 267 in Gainesville. He had also been awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
