Could you imagine how hard it would be to breathe on a foot march in one of those? I wouldn't want to find out that's for sure haha

Yes, we did it too with recruits, the Pl Comd would wear one to set the standard and the pace in front and the training NCO would be unmasked to keep the troops in order and maintain control.
I think both of you had lots of time with a mask on for experience...
