WACO has got it. Plenty of the No8's were cnverted for use as indoor trainers for the Wonbat and Conbat, as shown. They were also used in a similar way in the 120mm Centurions as indoor trainers. Usually, a redundant turret was mounted in a purpose built range for the tankies to practice. We had one with The Royal Hussars at Tidworth.. I often wonder what they did with the turret when it came time to clear the place.......
Lots of those aiming rifles were disposed of. Some were cut short. We also used little Australian sportco .22's too
