M1A1 stock

I have three. One, sn. 3207xx, which has the "circle P" on the rear of the stock. I imported it from England in 2005. It was found in a haybarn in 1944 near Portsmouth and turned in to the local police in 2004-5 by the widow of the farmer that found it. They gave it to the late Mike Miller who was a great Gentleman and he offered it up to me. I was told the local police were firearms friendly and registered it as a shotgun with the stipulation it had to be exported because of the ban. I had to get a retransfer authorization from PM RSAT US Dept. of State before ATF would approve it for import on a Form 6. I knew the retransfer agent at the time and he kidded me when I was getting the history together as best I could about wanting a letter from the farmer's daughter who caused that young paratrooper to lose his weapon! Anyhow, it's got lots of character but is absolutely factory original. The second is sn. 9687xx. It has the crossed cannons on the bottom of the grip. My third is a late one, sn. 52788xx with low wood, also crossed cannons on the bottom of the grip and a small "P" proof on the front of the grip, type II band and features exactly as laid out in W5USMC's post above. It also has RA-P, (Raritan Arsenal inspection stamp), on the right rear of the stock.
