Is there anything stamped on the bottom of the sight?
The application code should be on the underside of the dovetail.

Its a blade so the only stamp is on the side which is 46.5. I have old Stoeger Catalogs, Gun Digest, Shooters Bible dating back to 1953; none of them show this site, the closest I found is a #46R for a Krag
. The seller has no idea either. At this point I trying to decide on keeping it or not; it is a nice sight and you never know....

Just thinking the 46.5H might be the height of the blade, according to Stroebel with the Sheard Patents bought by Marbles the Sheard was stamped on the sight base or side, the application code was stamped on the underside of the dovetail or on the side.
Yes, 46r is for the Krag
.
