Hawker Typhoon restoration.
The world may yet again see a flying 'Tiffie' Hawker Typhoon again! There is a group near Comox, B.C. that is well on their way to rebuilding a Typhoon to air worthiness. It's an interesting story of their struggle to find parts and a Sabre engine for their aircraft. They found a Sabre engine owner who when approached to find out how much he wanted for the engine said that he wanted a running Merlin engine so the team in B.C. found a Merlin, rebuilt it and the swap was on. Probably wishing he was flying one of them Sapper740.
Anyone interested in a good read grab a copy of The Big Show By Pierre Clostermann you wont be disappointed I've read it twice the epitaph at the end of the book is very poignant in the realities of war.

As a holiday special Amazon's Audible.com is offering the book as free download. I prefer a good book in my hands but I can't argue with the price.
