I was digging through Mt. Sapperkit today and found several cases in deep storage. Cinders recent post garnered much interest and I thought some of you might enjoy seeing some of the cases I have on hand. First up is the spare valves case for the 19 set which was commonly installed in M4 Sherman tanks (and others) for communications between the crew, other tanks in the squadron, and back to HQ. The case is 6"L X 6 1/8"W X 6 5/8" H.

Boys ATR magazine case, with one lonely mag. I'm looking for more if anyone knows of one for sale for a reasonable price. Case is 12"L X 6"W X 6 1/4" H.
I've only seen one clip in the bandoleer but the owner had shooting quantities on boxes and some loose. No gun mind you...don't recall any mags either. The clip speaks of a mag charger too.
i never saw reference to a magazine charger for the Boys rifle. Two marks of magazine though. Tge Mk2 type had the aux spring down the front inside surface to prevent the noses of the live rounds from damaging the front surface of the magazine. Apparently, the top (or bottom.....) round in the magazine would ding the front of the casing, slightly lengthening a part of it, making it hard to remove and replace.
We had 2 Bits at Warminster and a fair bit of ammo but, alas, only one magazine!
My Boys ATR has been converted to .50 BMG making it cheaper to shoot and has fewer government entanglements. Any weapon firing a projectile large than .5" is considered a "Destructive Device" and thus must be registered and fees paid. Other than changing the barrel one must also modify the magazine to hold the slightly longer BMG cartridge.
I've been wanting one of these spare battery boxes for some time to go with my Lucas Signal Lamp and the battery boxes seem much less common on the surplus market than the actual signal lamps. I noticed this box recently on eBay which appeared to be in good condition with a reasonable start price. I placed a bid and, fortunately, no-one else appeared to want it.
When it arrived I was pleased to see that it is in nice, original, un-messed, condition with the original lining still in place. It is smaller than I was expecting but I hadn't seen another one before, except in pics.
